Leading global distributor Kew Media Distribution has assembled a rich collection of unique non-fiction titles to offer its global clients at MIPTV.

Kew Media Distribution’s slate includes the CNN Original series The Movies (12 x 60’ or 6 x 120’), exploring American cinema through the decades and the cultural, societal and political shifts that framed its evolution. Combining archive material and interviews with leading actors, directors, producers, film critics and historians including Ron Howard, Ridley Scott, Tom Hanks, Baz Luhrmann, Morgan Freeman and many more, The Movies weaves together the events that influenced and dominated cinema, building a compelling, chronological picture of the most pivotal moments in film. Produced by The Playtone Company and Herzog & Company.

Also new to MIPTV is an Essential Media Group production for Network TEN Australia’s Body Hack 3.0 (8 x 60’). The mission of this new non-fiction series is to investigate some of the most extraordinary people on the planet. Host, Todd Sampson (Outrageous Acts of Danger), will not only walk in their shoes, he will hack into their world using science as his guide.

British actor, writer, comedian and travel enthusiast Griff Rhys Jones boards the trains of Australia to present a very modern look at the ‘land down under’ in Griff Off the Rails: Down Under (6 x 60’ / 6 x 30’ version also available). An Essential Media Group Production.

A second season of the popular Haunted Hospitals (13 x 60’, also available: Season 1: 13 x 60’) from Bristow Global Media Inc. reveals more chilling tales of paranormal activity in hospitals, nursing homes, morgues and medical institutions. These terrifying real-life stories are told from a first-person perspective – by the medical professionals and patients who experienced them.

Three brand new series from Our House Media Productions are My Paranormal Nightmare (w/t) (10 x 60’), a spine-chilling series which tells the terrifying stories of people who experienced violent hauntings in their childhood years and, now adults, they take us back to the trauma of the most vulnerable time in their life.

Silent Witness: Murder In Amish Country (w/t) (6 x 60’), a dramatic, original and revealing series, features some of the most extraordinary and challenging murder cases to ever face the police: all the killings take place in the closed and secretive world of America’s Amish community, which is notoriously distrustful of the outside world.

And the third series, Mutant Weather (w/t) (10 x 60’, Coming Soon), takes viewers onto the front line of the shocking new weather phenomena that, thanks to climate change, are changing the world around us faster than we can keep up. Mutant Weather tells the stories of these mutations, from gestation and birth to their cataclysmic impact and how they will evolve next.

Also debuting at MIPTV is Frantic Films’ High Maintenance (8 x 60’, Coming Soon). Building a complex structure or system requires care and attention to detail, but if that structure should fail, the consequences are immediate and devastating. It’s tough, important work and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

These outstanding series are complimented by the unique and fascinating feature documentaries An Engineer Imagines (1 x 90’), The Cavern Club: The Beat Goes On (1 x 70’ or 1 x 55’), Laurel Canyon (1 x 90’), Margaret Atwood: Encounters (1 x 90’ or 1 x 58’), Toxic Beauty (1 x 90’ or 1 x 78’), Killing Patient Zero (1 x 90’), Active Measures (1 x 110’), and the gripping and highly emotional series When Missing Turns to Murder (10 x 60’).

Greg Phillips, President at Kew Media Distribution, commented, “The continued upswing in the number of streaming services, both local and global, means that international broadcasters and platforms are avidly seeking high-quality, original content to pique and hold the interest of their viewers and subscribers. Through our extensive relationships with leading producers from around the world, we are able to showcase an exceptional selection of programming at both MIPTV and MIPDOC which all make extraordinary, intriguing and sometimes downright uncomfortable viewing.”
