Cannes, 4th April 2016 – Content Television, a division of Content Media Corporation, has sold the brand new third season of World Productions’ critically-acclaimed, award-winning primetime thriller Line of Duty to broadcasters across the world it was announced today, coinciding with its international launch at MIPTV.

Written by Jed Mercurio (Bodies), the much-anticipated new season of Line of Duty made its debut on BBC Two in the UK with the premiere episode securing the highest audience figure for any Line of Duty episode to date. Content Television has already secured pan regional deals for the new 5 x one hour and 1 x 90 minute series with DirecTV in Latin America and BBC Worldwide for Benelux. VOD rights to the series have been picked up by Hulu for the US, alongside further deals in France (France TV), Brazil (Globosat), Africa (ITV), Norway (NRK), Iceland (RUV), Sweden (SVT), Denmark (DR), Germany (TMG), Malta (Go TV), Australia (NBC Universal) and New Zealand (Sky). Acorn has also signed Video, DTO and VOD rights for US and Canada.

In addition to launching season three, Content Television will also be shopping presale rights to the drama’s fourth season, which is scheduled to go into production later this year. The first two seasons of the BAFTA nominated and RTS Television Award winning Line of Duty have already sold widely across the world.

Set in the fictional police anti-corruption unit AC-12, Line of Duty is a cat-and-mouse thriller that takes a probing look into modern policing and corruption. Season three pits AC-12 against their most dangerous adversary yet. Called in to investigate the conduct of Sergeant Danny Waldron (Daniel Mays, Mrs Biggs, Public Enemies), the highly proficient leader of an Armed Response Unit whose unpredictable behaviour is becoming a threat to colleagues and suspects, AC-12 could soon find themselves in the firing line… In their pursuit of corruption, how far will they go to uncover the truth?

Mays joins returning cast Martin Compston (The Great Train Robbery), Vicky McClure (Broadchurch) and Adrian Dunbar (Ashes to Ashes), alongside new cast members Will Mellor (Broadchurch, The Street), Arsher Ali (The Missing, Complicit) and Leanne Best (Ripper Street, Fortitude).
