Suzi Quatro Feature-Documentary "SUZI Q" to World Premiere at MIFF 2019; open in UK Cinemas September

The Acme Film Company and Label Distribution are delighted to announce that Suzi Q, a theatrical feature-doc on the life of iconic, trailblazing rocker Suzi Quatro, will have its World Premiere at the 2019 Melbourne International Film Festival, August 15.

Melbourne-based Director Liam Firmager and Producer Tait Brady have been in production for 5 years and will complete the film just days before the World Premiere.

Suzi Q charts the professional career of Detroit-born, UK-based singer/ songwriter/bassist/bandleader/actor/poet Susan Kay Quatro, the first female-rocker to break through into the mainstream. With unlimited access to Quatro and contributions from collaborators, family and those she has inspired, the film documents both Suzi’s personal life and a remarkable 53 years on the road - a career which continues, with a new album released this month and over 100 shows scheduled for 2019.

Talent featuring in the film in addition to Suzi herself, include Alice Cooper, Deborah Harry, Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads), Joan Jett and Cherie Currie (The Runaways), Happy Days co-star Henry Winkler, KT Tunstall, Australian-born record-producer /songwriter Mike Chapman, numerous members of the very musical Quatro family and many more.
The film has already been picked up by leading International Sales Agent Kew Media Distribution for ROW who have concluded a UK deal with boutique distributor Moviehouse to release Suzi Q in UK cinemas in late September, with Sky Arts broadcast to closely follow.

Label are planning a late 2019 release for the film locally, to coincide with Suzi’s major city tour here in November.
